When you order a background check and/or drug screen for a candidate, the candidate will need to give their consent to initiate the services. If a drug screen is ordered either with or without other services, the candidate will be able to electronically choose the facility they would like to go to in order to complete the sample process.

Account Setup 

Once a background check or drug screen is ordered, the candidate will receive an email from customer_service@accurate.com. The email will contain a link to create a username and password with our vendor, Accurate Background, to provide consent.

This process can either be completed on a laptop/desktop or mobile device.

The candidate's username will be their email address and cannot be changed. They will also need to create a password that meets the following criteria:

 

• Password must contain at least 8 characters.
• Must contain at least 1 uppercase character.
• Must contain at least 1 lowercase character.
• Must contain at least 1 number.
• Must contain at least 1 special character (%,^,*,?).
• Must not have more than 2 repeated characters.

 

NOTE: If the candidate has completed a background check through Accurate Background before, they will be prompted to log in using the original credentials instead of creating a new password. If they cannot remember their password, they can use the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen.

 

 

 

 

 

Electronic Consent

Once the candidate has logged into the system, they will be presented with the name of the prospective employer that has ordered the background check request. They will click 'Get Started' to begin.

 

 

 

 

 

Your candidate will now see a list of all required tasks they will need to complete.

 

 

 

 

The first step in the process is the review of Electronic Consent. This eConsent is presented to the candidate to read through and must be agreed upon in order to proceed with completing the process electronically. If for any reason the candidate chooses to not agree and declines the eConsent, the background check will cancel out completely. In the event this happens, you will be notified via email.

 

 

 

 

Personal Information

After a candidate provides consent, the next step in the process is to enter their personal information. On this page, the candidate's name will automatically populate, but they will need to either enter a middle name or certify that they do not have one. If applicable, they will also have the option to enter a suffix.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Next, they will enter their address.

 

 

 

 

 

 

After the candidate enters their address, they will be prompted to enter their applicable identification types.

 

NOTE: The candidate will only be asked to provide a driver's license if the services ordered contain an MVR.

 

To ensure the candidate has entered their Social Security Number correctly, they will need to enter it into the system twice. In addition, there are validations on this field to prohibit them from entering bogus information. For example, if the candidate enters 111-11-1111 or 123-45-6789, the system will not allow them to proceed until corrected.

 

 

 

 

Next, the candidate will be presented with the Disclosure form. They will then sign with their mouse on a desktop or finger on a mobile dive, and click 'I Agree and Continue' to move forward.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Authorization Form 

The last piece of information the candidate will need to sign off on is the Authorization form. They will also be presented with any applicable federal and/or state notices on this page (i.e. Summary of Rights under the FCRA, CA Summary of Rights, NY Article 23-A, etc.)

 

NOTE: The system will automatically generate any state-specific notices.

 

The candidate will also e-sign this step.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Once the candidate e-signs the final Authorization, they will be presented with the opportunity to download PDFs of both the signed Disclosures and Authorizations.

 

 

 

Certification 

The final step in the process is to certify that all of the information provided is true and complete. Once the candidate clicks the 'I Agree & Continue' button, the system will let them know that they have completed the process.

 

If a drug screen is included in the service package, the candidate will be routed to a separate system automatically to pick a drug testing site and retrieve their paperwork.
