A Caliper is a great assessment to measure a candidate's soft skills. If after the interview process, you're still on the fence about a candidate, we recommend running a Caliper or an automated reference check, or both to either reconfirm or disprove your feelings about a candidate.
Another great use for Caliper is if you're in between two different candidates, even after a round of interviews.
Caliper will not only measure the candidate's soft skills but also assess them based on what the role requires, which ultimately will give you an idea whether or not the candidate can perform in the role you need them to.
To start, click on the 'Testing' tab from within the job itself, next to the candidate you'd like to order an assessment. Click on 'Order skills tests' to bring you to the testing options page.
Next, select the Caliper assessment you would like to send out.
Start by selecting the language you would like to send the assessment in to the candidate. English will be the default but we also provide you with the option to send the assessment to candidates in another language.
You will now have to select the Caliper type. There are two main options to select from:
1. Predictor - This assessment is great for positions that don't require a ton of analytic skills or for candidates that are fresh out of school without a lot of prior experience in the position your'e considering them for.
2. Selector* - This assessment is going to be a great fit for about 95% of roles and includes a section that measures abstract reasoning. This is a good fit for any role that requires a a medium to senior experience level or for any role that requires the candidate to think critically.
To pick your assessment, fill in the bubble next to the Caliper assessment's name.
*If you choose the Selector, you'll have to select a job family to go along with it. To do this, click the dropdown menu under the assessment title. You'll want to make sure that you're selecting the right job family for the role you're hiring for as each job family contains different competencies that are important for a candidate to be successful in the role.
After you've selected the assessment you would like to send to the candidate, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the 'Continue' button.
Finally, you'll fire off an email to the candidate to complete this next step.
On this page, review the candidate's contact information to ensure it's correct. If everything shakes out, click the continue button to send.
Your candidate will receive an email from firstname.lastname@example.org with a link to complete the assessment. Once they finish, you will receive an email notification with a copy of the results attached.
