Using Single Sign-On (SSO)
SSO is an authentication method that streamlines the login process for Hireology users, improves security, and simplifies user management. There are two options available:
Social SSO
Log into your Hireology account using your existing Google, Apple, or Microsoft account.
Company SSO
Access Hireology using the login credentials provided by your company's identity provider. Hireology is compatible with any SSO provider that supports OAuth.
To log in with Google, choose the account that you would like to use, then follow the prompts.
To log in with Apple, enter the email address associated with your Apple ID, then click the arrow.
Enter your password and click the arrow again.
Enter the verification code (this code will appear on the screen of a device that is connected to your Apple ID).
Choose whether or not to trust the browser.
Click 'Continue'.
Choose whether or not to share your email address and click 'Continue'.
To log in with Microsoft, enter your email address, phone number, or Skype username.
Click 'Accept' to allow access.
Regardless of which option you choose, you will be prompted to verify the account with a one-time password sent to your email address. This step will only be required the first time you connect an account or if you disconnect, then reconnect an account. Click ‘Send verification code’.
When you receive the code, enter it in the indicated field and click ‘Verify code’ to complete the account connection.
If you do not have MFA enabled, you may be prompted to set it up in the future when logging in with SSO. Although MFA is recommended, you may choose the option to skip.
To view your connected SSO accounts, click into the personal settings menu and select 'My Profile'.
Your connected accounts will be listed in the Single Sign-On section. To disconnect an account, click the ‘Unlink’ button.
If no accounts are connected, it will be reflected in the Single Sign-On section.
Enrolling in Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two or more authentication factors, via text message or an authorization app, to verify their identity before gaining access to their Hireology account. With MFA enabled, users will be asked to provide these additional layers of security when suspicious activity is detected.
To enroll in MFA, click into your personal settings and select 'My Profile'.
Next, click the ‘Enroll’ button in the Multi-Factor Enrollment section.
Choose the method you would like to use for MFA, then click ‘Continue’.
Authenticator App
If you select the Authenticator App option, you will be prompted to download an authenticator app from the Apple or Google Play Store. Hireology recommends using the Microsoft Authenticator App but you may use any authenticator app of your choice.
Once installed, open the authenticator app and scan the QR code. Important note: You will need to use the app rather than your camera to scan the QR code. A verification code will appear in the authenticator app. Click ‘Continue’ on the Hireology MFA setup page to enter the code.
Enter the verification code from the authenticator app and click ‘Verify’.
SMS
If you choose the SMS option for MFA, you will be prompted to enter your phone number to have a verification code sent via text.
Enter the verification code into the designated field, then click ‘Verify code’. If you did not receive the code, you can click ‘Send new code’ to try again.
Click ‘Continue’ to complete the setup.
Login Frequency
To strengthen the security of your Hireology account, users will be automatically logged out after 24 hours of inactivity. Users who take action within their account more often than every 24 hours will be automatically logged out every 14 days to maintain their account security. To regain access, simply log in again.
Notice to Users With Passwords Created Prior to August 2023
Customers who rely on Password Managers such as 1Password or LastPass to log in might find that credentials are no longer auto-filled. This is due to security updates affecting users with passwords created prior to August 2023. To update your password, accept the prompt from your Password Manager to save or update your password when logging in.
If you have forgotten your password, learn how to reset it here.
