Create a Security Profile
Before generating your Client ID and Client Secret, create a Security Profile that gives the OAuth application the API access required for the integration.
- In UKG Ready, go to Settings > Profiles/Policies > Security.
- Create a new Security Profile.
- Enter a name for the profile.
- Make sure the profile is active.
-
Open the Modules tab.
- Scroll down to REST API RESOURCES.
-
Select the following permissions:
- Employees: View, Edit, Add, and Delete
-
Employees (Changed): View
- Save the Security Profile.
Generate your Client ID and Client Secret
Once the Security Profile is created, generate your OAuth credentials and assign the Security Profile to the integration setup.
- In UKG Ready, go to Global Setup > Company Setup > Login Configuration.
- Select Add OAuth Application.
- Choose Machine to Machine as the Application Type.
- Enter a name for the application.
- Click Generate Secret.
- Copy the generated Client Secret.
- Copy the displayed Client ID.
- Select the Security Profile you created above.
-
Under Account Access, check Edit.
- Select the appropriate Account Groups value.
- Save the OAuth application.
If the integration user or OAuth application has already been created, open the existing setup, assign the new Security Profile, and make sure Edit access is enabled before saving.
