Jobs are advertised on job sites with either organic or sponsored visibility. Along with other factors, the type of visibility a job has will affect where it appears in job search results. When a job seeker searches for jobs, the results may include a combination of organic and sponsored jobs.
In this article we will cover:
Organic Jobs
Organic jobs are jobs that are ranked by posting date or relevance based on a job seeker’s search criteria. These jobs are not associated with a paid sponsorship and do not receive promoted visibility on the job boards. As organic jobs age, they may appear further down the list in search results. To prevent this, you can turn on Automatic Job Refresh for your jobs!
Sponsored Jobs
Sponsored jobs are jobs that have a budget applied to them to help them stand out. Sponsoring jobs will promote them over organic jobs helping them to appear earlier in search results even as the job ages. These jobs still compete with other sponsored jobs but tend to bring in higher applicant volume.
