Customizing your hiring steps allows you to offer your users and applicants a cohesive experience, allowing your content to reflect your brand and culture as well as building a hiring process that is appropriate for each type of role you recruit for.
In this article we will cover:
- Customizing the application
- Customizing the prescreen survey
- Customizing interview guides
- Customizing offer letters
- Adding or removing hiring steps
Customizing the application
Creating a custom application is a critical initial step. Since the application is your applicants barrier to entry to your open role, you want to make sure it is as short as possible, but also collects the information critical for you to evaluate their quality.
You can access the application from the "hiring steps" tab at the top of your account or within a job you are opening. You can create multiple applications should you need to ask different questions based on the role.
Customizing the prescreen survey
The prescreen survey allows you to focus your attention on qualified applicants and allows you to ask a few more questions of your applicant, outside of your application form.
We recommend customizing or editing your prescreen survey based on the type of role, editing the questions to reflect the skills and experiences required of the role.
Customizing interview guides
Hireology interview guides allow you to customize interview scripts or templates based on your open role and allows you to offer applicants a consistent and compliant interview process. While your account will feature interview guides based on standard job families, we recommend reviewing and customizing to reflect your ideal interview.
Customizing offer letters
When extending an offer to a candidate, you may choose to send a formal offer letter. Customizing the offer letter or creating a few different templates is a great idea to tailer the letter to the type of role.
Adding or removing hiring steps
You can customize the hiring steps attached to your role. For example, you may only want one interview or you may want to make reference checks a hiring step for a particular role. Adding or removing hiring steps is a simple, but important step in customizing your hiring process.
